HO - Ft. Worth, TX

The LMRA Railroad Activity's "Gulf & Denver Railroad", as featured in the September 2000 issue of Model Railroad Craftsman magazine, is one of the largest club layouts in the North Texas area. The HO-scale layout consists of 7.5 scale miles of mainline rail and over 33 scale miles of overall track in a 1200 sq. ft. setting. There are over 110 Peco switches. The layout was built for operation with a dispatcher's area and RailOp computer generated waybills. The club uses the cordless EasyDCC (Digital Command & Control) operating system. It is a walk-around layout with full painted backdrop and is 85% covered in scenery. There are many structures on the layout, many of which are kit bashed. There are two main yard areas, several staging yards, and many sidings, spurs, and industrial areas. There are lots of details, bridges, mountains, and trees.
